The voice of WA’s youth, YACWA, launch their new mobile app

The Youth Affairs Council of Western Australia (YACWA) is the peak non-government youth organisation in Western Australia that operates primarily as a human rights organisation that seeks to see young people included in society.

Working with us, YACWA identified the need to provide the youth of WA with an easy to use app to build stronger connections in the community and empower them.

The new app, titled Pl!ng, will fundamentally act as a service directory as well as assist youth in a crisis situation. Aimed to reassure and support young people through communication platforms they use most, the app is the most comprehensive and current listing available for this specific age group in WA.

YACWA’s role is to strengthen the trust, cooperation, collaboration, professionalism and voice of the non-government youth sector and the new app is designed to achieve that objective.

Gaining insights from focus groups, in depth interviews and online surveys drew positive reactions from the target audience. Clean design, core features and content set for the app were identified from the user experience research.

The core functions of the app include a service finder, service details, events, and favourites listing with Google maps integration, service opening hours, SMS keyword service, automated email service and offline mode as updates for phase two of the project.

Utilising our global skillset, the app was developed in our Edinburgh studio. The final product boasts an easy to navigate user interface which is compatible with iPhones, Androids and tablets.
