It’s been over three years since we launched Anthony Nolan’s website, and we feel privileged to be able to continue to support such an important charity.
Anthony Nolan are the leading UK charity involved in stem cell transplantation, are an international authority on scientific stem cell research, and a key player in the healthcare charity fundraising market.
Over the last two months, Anthony Nolan have received a record number of visitors to their site and most importantly, conversion rates are high as users are signing up to be donors! This is due to the #Match4Lara campaign, which has also seen support from Stephen Fry and Danny Dyer on Twitter.
Lara is a 24-year-old Chinese-Thai-Italian student who was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in December 2015, and needs a stem cell donor to save her life.
Due to being of mixed heritage, this makes it extremely difficult for Lara to find a stem cell donor as matching types are an inherited trait. Unfortunately, only 3% of donors on the public stem cell registries are of mixed race, but by joining a national bone marrow registry, you could be a potential donor and save Lara’s life.
There are a range of ways you can register, including registering through Anthony Nolan’s website.
We’ve been working closely with Anthony Nolan to quickly move their site onto Amazon Cloud Hosting to scale up their hosting abilities to ensure that the surge of potential donors are easily able to register on their site.
If you’re planning on running campaigns that drive high amounts of traffic to your website, or if you have high profile celebrities endorsing your cause or organisation, ensure that your digital agency or internal systems are prepared so your site can handle the demand.
