WaterAid’s major fundraising event in Western Australia, the 2013WA WaterAid Ball, went off with a bang on August 30 at Crown Perth.
WaterAid, a non-government international organisation, aims to enrich lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in some of the world’s poorest countries. Their annual ball helps to raise money to provide vital resources as the first step to overcoming poverty and Precedent were keen to get involved. The Precedent team from Perth and clients from Water Corporation had a great night supporting the cause and letting their hair down to some live music.
Everyone got involved in the event through the live auction, a wine wall, raffles and a silent auction. As well as raising money for such an important cause, WaterAid also made a presentation educating the Western Australian community at the ball about how valuable their work is and exactly how the funds raised will help disadvantaged countries around the world.
Supported by one of our clients, Water Corporation, the ball auctioned off iPads, diamond jewellery, a Tuscan villa holiday, Andy Warhol prints and a signed Fremantle Dockers jersey to support the cause. The money raised at this year's ball will go towards work in one of the 27 countries that WaiterAid provides aid for in Afica, Asia, the Pacific and Central America.
The best dressed award on the Precedent table went to our Managing Director (AsiaPac), Sean Gardiner and his wife Stina, who looked impressive in their Bollywood costumes. Precedent had a fantastic time and look forward to getting involved in more of WaterAid’s fundraising events in the future.
