Justin Buford

Justin Buford is Sr. Director of Product Operations at Precedent. Renowned for his ability to execute complex digital product transformations, Justin has a proven track record of driving business results and improving customer experiences. Before Precedent, Justin spent 16 years at GEICO, where he earned his stripes as a digital transformation expert across multiple sectors, including Sales, Underwriting, and Claims solutions. Under his leadership, GEICO saw an impressive 81% surge in digital customer acquisitions of bundled products, a transformation to the digital platform being the preferred channel for customer claims reporting, and was honored as Indiana’s Best Tech Employer in 2019 by Techpoint. Moreover, his innovative use of machine learning for detecting claim anomalies led to a considerable cost saving of $30 million for the company.

Justin’s leadership extends beyond just engineering and product management. A devoted champion of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, Justin was the driving force behind the creation of GEICO’s Employee Resource Groups, which saw a 9.1% participation rate within the company in a remarkably short time.

A proud graduate of Morehouse College, Justin holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science and a minor in Mathematics. Outside of his professional commitments, he found his passion 8 years ago as an avid traveler and as of 2023 has explored over 20 countries with more on the horizon.  Born and raised in the the “could-be-a-country” large city of Warner Robins, GA, Justin loves spending time with family back home.
